    highlights

    • U18 teams compete against other associations across Calgary in a city-wide schedule
    • Players must select either Body-Checking or Non-Body-Checking during registration and will be evaluated accordingly
    • Tiers include BC-1, BC-2, BC-3 (Body-Checking) and NBC-1, NBC-2, NBC-3 (Non-Body-Checking)
    • During evaluations, players are ranked by performance and placed accordingly — selection of Body-Checking does not guarantee placement in that stream

    season format

Seeding Round - typically late October through early December

    • Used to assess the relative strength of teams across Calgary
    • Teams play a series of games against various opponents
    • Based on results, teams may be re-tiered into appropriate competitive groupings

Regular Season - typically starts early December

    • Begins after the Seeding Round
    • Teams compete against similarly tiered opponents in the North zone for the remainder of the season
    • Standings during this phase determine playoff positioning

Esso Minor Hockey Week (EMHW) - early January

    • The first game counts toward regular season standings; all other games are standalone tournament play
    • It follows a modified single-elimination format — teams are guaranteed two games, but a second loss eliminates them

Adrenaline City Championships - late February to end of season

    • Teams compete to determine the overall city champion.
    • This is a true double-elimination format — teams remain in the tournament until they’ve lost twice.
