financial assistance
Several financial support programs are available to help cover registration costs. Most are based on Revenue Canada’s Low-Income Cut-Offs (LICO) and require families to meet specific income criteria to qualify for one or more children.

FLAMES EVENSTRENGTH program (FESP)
- To be eligible for FESP funding, players must be registered with the Northwest Warriors before applying.
- Applications open June 15 and the dealine to apply is October 15.
- Families approved for the FESP grant may also receive access to the Flames Community Sports Bank.
Jumpstart individual child grant
- Support for Low Income families - up to $300 towards hockey registration fees.
hockey canada assist fund
- Up to $500 in registration fee subsidies per player based on financial need.
clayton fernie legacy scholarship
- The Clayton Fernie Legacy Scholarship provides financial assistance for Calgary Minor Hockey registration fees and honors Clayton’s life and passion for the game.
- This scholarship is awarded based on financial need.
