SUBJECT: Boundary Change Announcement

As per Hockey Calgary’s recent bulletins of February 1 and February 15 a subcommittee of the Operations Committee (presidents or representatives from all Hockey Calgary Member Associations) has been reviewing the ‘Community Boundaries’ since early November. On Monday March 20, the Hockey Calgary Board of Directors approved the final details of the recommendation from the Operations Committee and are pleased to announce changes to the ‘Community Boundaries’ for the 2023-24 season.

1. The creation of a new program (name TBD) in the north part of the city, this new organization will be an amalgamation of the current Crowfoot Hockey Association and the Simons Valley Hockey Association with the following exceptions:
a. The communities of Rocky Ridge & Royal Oak will now be designated to the Bow River Hockey Association
b. The communities of Castleridge, Falconridge, Coral Springs, Martindale, Taradale, Saddleridge, Cityscape, Redstone, Cornerstone, Skyview, are now designated to the McKnight Hockey Association

This is a difficult process and one that considers numerous factors, with the goal to make our programs as equitable as possible and provide all players with a similar playing experience and opportunity. For more information, please review the FAQ’s. We thank you in advance for your support of this decision.

Kevin Kobelka
