President’s Message: February 2022

Hello Warrior families!

We are moving into the homestretch of the season and looking forward to city playoffs.  Coming off the successful completion of the Esso Minor Hockey Week, which saw 3 Warriors teams take home the banner (Congrats U11-2 Blue, U13-4 Blue and U18NBC-1!), we have every confidence that we will be able to continue the season through to the city playoffs.

Despite the current surge of COVID cases, the Hockey Calgary game cancellation and rescheduling protocol has provided an avenue to keep the season moving forward.

We are looking forward to the return of the annual Georgie Bamber Memorial Tournament of Champions.  This annual tournament introduces our newest Warrior families to the connection to community that our association values, sharing the inspiring story of a young boy who loved hockey.  To learn more of Georgie’s story, click here: https://www.nwwarriorshockey.com/georgie-bamber-toc/

The NWW board continues to work to improve and modernize our policies and procedures.  Thanks to the great efforts of our Game and Conduct Committee, the board recently approved revisions to both the Game & Conduct and Social Media policies.

The members of the board want to extend a huge thank you to all of our volunteer coaches, managers and others who contribute in so many ways.  We hope that this message finds all Warriors in the midst of a fun hockey season where friendships have flourished, and your little players have developed a few new hockey skills along the way.

Best regards,

Janis Rogers, President

On behalf of the NW Warriors board
